How it works

For the Buyer
  • Every auction purchase automatically includes a 90-day guarantee at no extra cost.
  • If the equipment materially differs from the inspection report, you're covered.
  • Claims are adjudicated by an independent panel; valid claims are remedied from the seller's 10% escrow holdback.
  • The guarantee covers mechanical and structural discrepancies, not normal wear and tear.
For the Seller
  • 10% of the hammer price is held in escrow for 90 days after the sale closes.
  • This holdback protects buyers and is only used to remedy valid, adjudicated claims.
  • After 90 clean days, the full holdback is released to the seller with no deductions.
  • Sellers with a clean claims history earn a 'Verified Dealer' badge and reduced holdback rates.

The process

1
Purchase
Buyer wins the auction. 10% of the hammer price is automatically placed in escrow from the seller's proceeds.
2
90-day window
Buyer has 90 days to inspect and operate the equipment. Any material discrepancy from the inspection report can be raised as a claim.
3
Claim review
Claims are reviewed by an independent adjudication panel. Both parties submit evidence.
4
Resolution
Valid claims are remedied from the escrow holdback. Invalid or no claims → holdback released to seller on day 90.
Underwritten Protection
The 90-day guarantee is backed by Equipment Balkans and underwritten at Lloyd's of London. Every claim is handled by an independent adjudication panel — we never self-adjudicate.

An independent panel reviews evidence from both parties. Most claims are resolved within 14 days.

After 90 clean days with no valid claims, the full 10% holdback is released to the seller.
